This is a privately printed issue by Benjamin Hawes for his brother William who accompanied Charles Fellows on the fourteenth ascent of Mont Blanc. This charming production contains the plate of heights as a frontispiece and four hand-coloured lithographs including a double page one by Samuel Birman. The plates include Chamonix, The Glacier des Boissons, the Ascent of Saussure in 1787. Benjamin Hawes was a British Whig politician.
