rare early Murray edition

This is the first of two issues of the second edition.

This volume contains a folding plate of the "Chain of Mont Blanc" and a view of the Bernese Alps. William Brockedon author of the "High Passes of the Alps" also contributed to this volume.

Second edition. pp. lxvii, 397, publisher's list, two folding engraved plates, one repaired with brown tape, the other repaired on reverse, folding map on linen at rear, slight spotting throughout; publisher's brown cloth, upper cover with gilt medallion and lettering; some wear to the extremities, spine partly split; a very good copy.
