A charming book describing the views and sights between Whitby and Pickering in North Yorkshire, as seen from the railway. The Whitby and Pickering Railway was built to prevent the decline of Whitby, as its main industry of whaling and shipbuilding faltered, and encourage tourism. This book is a part of that encouragement, and was successful in turning Whitby into a desirable seaside destination, along a railway which still operates traditional steam trains today.
