First edition of a vast chromolithographed panorama. Begun in 1377, Ulm Minster was completed on the 31 May 1890, becoming the tallest building in the world; it remains the tallest church in the world to this day. The present work was produced to commemorate the 500th anniversary of its breaking ground, and depicts a grand procession. Hundreds of people are featured, both on foot and on horseback, in historical costume of various periods, including medieval soldiers, merchants, artists, patricians, noblemen, Meistersinger, as well as figures from later history.

Small 8vo (152 × 107 mm), containing a long chromolithograph folded in concertina leaves (nearly 8 metres long, printed on 16 sections and pasted together); title leaf to upper pastedown; publisher's quarter cloth, embossed paper sides lettered gilt, extremities worn, paper on inside of spine chipped.
