First edition; 8vo; gift inscription to front free endpaper, 10pp publisher's ads at end, final page of ads browned, spotting to half-title and edges, light offsetting to endpapers; publisher's orange cloth, titles to spine and covers black, spine slightly cocked, some small white stains to upper cover, with the second issue pictorial dust-jacket with '2/6' price sticker on spine, partially obscured by bookseller's label, rubbed and stained, particularly to lower panel, repaired tear to lower flap, several small chips and closed tears, with chip to head of spine causing some loss to one letter, else very good.
