inscribed to Max Beerbohm

A memorial volume produced by Laurence Whistler in memory of his wife, the actor Jill Furse. This copy with his signed presentation inscription to the front free endpaper, 'Sir Max Beerbohm from Laurence Whistler 1945'.

First edition, sole impression, one of 150 numbered printed for the editor, inscribed by Whistler to Max Beerbohm; 8vo; photographic illustrations throughout; original sand-coloured cloth, titles to upper board and spine gilt. Very mild spotting but a superb copy.
