[Historical and Biblical Events from the Birth of Christ until mid XV Century].
Rare Russian translation of the work compiled from different Greek sources and covering fifteen centuries of biblical and historical events from the birth of Christ. The first part of the book presented here describe events until eighth century and is largely based on the famous work the Byzantine chronologist Georgiy Kedrin (end of XI – beginning of XII c.) "Historical Synopsis". Kedrin, in turn, extensively used such sources of ancient history as world chronicles of Georgiy Amartola (IX c.), Flavius' "Jewish Antiquities" and "Synopsis" by Johannes Scylitzes when writing his own work. Descriptions of some of the most important events Kedrin compares the points of view of different sources. The work was translated into Russian by Sidorovskiy (1748—1795) – priest and a member of the Russian Academy.
