Joseph Dalton Hooker and John Ball travelled to Morocco and the Atlas Mountains in 1871. They were also accompanied by George Maw, the geologist. They climbed over 11,500 feet, the first time by any European and made some important botanical discoveries. This volume also contains interesting facts relating to the Berbers, for example their practice of animal sacrifice. An interesting and detailed volume.
