A scarce Constructivist children's book illustrated by the Chichagova sisters. The sisters, Galina and Olga studied at the Stroganov Academy until 1917 and in 1920 joined Vkhutemas under the tutelage of Rodchenko. They worked together on all of their book illustrations and remained keen advocates of the Constructivist movement. OCLC lists just two copies at Princeton and the University of Pensylvania.
Sole edition, 4to (28.5 x 21.8 cm); illustrations throughout, some repairs to gutter and spine; original illustrated wrappers, small loss of paper to lower corner, a very good copy.
