Ernest Foussier (1859-1917) was a French architect and a professor at the trade association of upholsterers and decorators. He was commissioned by the Vanderbilt family to decorate their house on Avenue Foch. A precursor of Art Deco, he won a medal at the 1900 Universal Exhibition.
