Well-preserved example of Ortelius' map of Fez & Morocco, including a large inset cartouche of Western Africa. Taken from the fifth, final, and most complete French edition of Theatre de l'Univers. Enriched with decorative cartouches, ships and sea monsters.

Abraham Ortelius (1527-1598) was a cartographer and publisher, he was born and died in Antwerp.
